Boston Sport’s Worst Nightmare
The only sport in Boston that has not been affected is the Bruins, until now. A Boston sports franchise that was considered dead to most until a change in ownership that has brought them out of the dark ages and back into the spotlight, the Bruins have gained popularity at a skyrocketing rate. Boston is one of the original 6 teams of hockey and wouldn't even be discussed by sports radio stations aside from Toucher and Rich on their days of WBCN and who now have a relationship with many team members and continue to be one of the only media outlets to discuss Bruins in depth on 98.5 The Sports Hub. The Bruins two pre-season rookie games this year have drawn in 11,571 and 14,180 respectively. That's an impressive 81% of the full capacity of the Garden. I can only hope that this pristine sport can remain intact aside from the occasional "Dancing Guy". Wholesale NFL hats With the acquisition of Tyler Seguin and promising line-up this is looking to be a great year, so long as the Pink Hats stay away.
We are stating to see the "Pink Hat Invasion" (P.H.I.) overflow into our other sports as well. Patriot's games are becoming the new target of the bandwagon fan. In a sport with a limited season this has the most impact on the true fans of the sport. Thankfully the average bandwagon-er does not want to sit outside when it is 32°F and snowing to watch a game they don't understand.
Fenway has become overrun with "fans" that only gained interest in the Red Sox after their World Series titles. They have no idea who play what position or even the general rules of baseball but are going to Fenway for "the experience" and to be a part of "Red Sox Nation". Cheap NBA hats The unfortunate side affect of this is that increasingly fewer die-hard fans are able to attend games and root for their team. When is the last time Fenway didn't sell out?
The "Pink Hat" invasion has begun to take over in Boston and is most apparent at Fenway Park. This term has become widely used in the area and is often misinterpreted as sexist. The term pink hat does not refer specifically to women, as we all know a handful of women that could put men to shame with their knowledge of sports statistics, athletes, and history. It is more of a generalization of the "bandwagon fan".
Pink Hat fever is a growing trend among sports today. Wholesale NBA hats Venues used to be filled with a large percentage of die-hard fans and a small handful of people that were just going for the sake of going. This, unfortunately, is a rapidly changing balance that is threatening the sports experience as we know it.
